This category awards those who have led the way this year in exciting and innovative campaigning, projects and programmes.
From creativity and impact in campaigns through to influencing the wider community in promoting equality and diversity – winners in this category will have gone above and beyond to have a positive impact on student’s lives.

How to nominate
The NUS Awards 2014 are now open for you to enter and nominations close midday on Wednesday 7th May 2014. Judging criteria for each award are detailed below.
You can submit your application online at the ‘Nominations’ page for any award.
Criteria
The following judging criteria are used each award in this category respectively.
Campaign of the Year
1. What was the campaign, how and why was it chosen as a priority for the union and what did it aim to achieve?
2. How did the campaign demonstrate using best practice in planning, communication, team working and evaluation?
3. What did the campaign achieve and what quantifiable impact did it have on others locally or nationally?
4. How did the campaign show creativity in the delivery of campaign objectives through events, activities and communication channels?
5. How did the campaign utilise resources within the student body, local stakeholders and/or the media?
Innovation and Enterprise Award
1. What was the project/product and what did it aim to achieve?
2. How is the project/product an innovative solution to the issue or problem it seeks to solve?
3. How did the project utilise resources within the student body or local stakeholders?
4. How has the project made a positive impact on the student population and/or the wider community/ local stakeholders?
5. What is the future vision for the project/product and how could it be taken forward to make a difference to students and the wider community?
Equality and Diversity Award
1. How has the union strengthened equality and diversity across the organisation and its structures in the past year?
2. How has the union demonstrated it has gone above and beyond normal expectations?
3. What projects or campaigns has the union been delivering this year to actively demonstrate equality and diversity in staff recruitment, student activities and democracy?
4. What innovative ideas or new thinking has the union used in its work across the union or local community to promote equality and diversity?
5. What has been the effect of this work and what improvement has been seen in equality and diversity within the union or local community?
